My Homepage offers excellent pictures and some stories (however in German language) from famous places in Burma/ Myanmar. First comes Yangon (Rangoon) with typical views of the city and the famous Shwedagon Pagoda. Bagan with a really spectacular area of thousands of temples around the city but also impressions from markets, street scenery, pictures of Myanmar people with it's lovely Thanakha faces. I visited a little Farm and documented their produce followed by seeing a Bhuddist Initiationceremony where the entire village had a festivity. Impressions from Villagelife and the monastery on top of Mount Popa.
Mandalay with the famous teakwood bridge, over 160 years old, a visit in a Buddhist monastery, pagodas, temples with lots of fantastic fotos. A river cruise on Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddya) towards Mingun with its giant ruin of a temple and scenery on the riverbanks. A trip by car through the highlands with magnificent pictures of the landscape towards the Pindaya cave with its thousand of Buddha statues.
Swimming gardens and villages, temples, a local Market with lots of different people at the Lake Inle with it's famous leg-rowers.
Holiday at the fine beaches of Ngapali with a good selection of fotos and visits of local markets and the local fisherharbour of Lontha
