My Son - ancient temples of the Cham period
About 50 km away from Hoi An is My Son situated, with the most important temples of the Cham culture (UNESCO heritage). The Cham were Hindus and this period existed from the 4th to the 13th century, much longer than the Angkor Wat period in Cambodia. Though a lot of these temples are broken there is still much to see as my pictures proof. Worth to mention that you walk under trees in an area of tropical forest with surprising views. After the entrance you have to walk a bit until there are electric cars (included in the price) which will bring you to the temple area. Don't miss them, it is quite far. And don't forget water. Good to know that the reconstruction is going on, a number of temples were destroyed during heavy fights in the American war. That is how the Vietnam war is called here.
