Tet Fest - Vietnamese New Year

I was in Hanoi at the time of Tet Fest and celebrated New Year's Eve with a million of other people, enjoying the fireworks at Hoan Chiem Lake. The Tet is the most important event in Vietnam. It lasts for five days and it is a very family oriented time. During Tet the streets are quiet, most of the shops are closed and there are occasionally limited offerings and limited kitchen capacities in the restaurants.
My advice is not to travel at that time.
